G'day! / Mambo!
I have wanted to share my love for organic body products with a wider group of people for a long time and the time has finally arrived!
I started making organic body butters about 15 years ago for myself and gave them as gifts to friends and family. I was very pleasantly surprised and humbled when I kept constantly receiving positive feedback, rave reviews and requests for more, more, more!!
As I was working crazy long hours in the corporate world it soon became more of an occasional hobby when time permitted (read: rarely) until I reached a point when I realized I was barely indulging in my passion once every 3 or 4 months (when I used up the big tub of my body butter).
After taking a career break and considering my next steps I came to the conclusion that maybe it was time to see if I can do what I love full time while also spreading the joy I get from using these gorgeous butters every single day. Thus Nzuri Organics was born in late 2014.
What is Nzuri you ask? Nzuri is Swahili for beautiful / lovely.
Why Swahili? Well, I am Tanzanian Australian and my Tanzanian heritage taught me all I know about keeping your skin as moisturised as possible to keep it in the best condition possible.
It was drummed into me from a very young age and my Mum could always tell with one glance when I skipped the moisturising step in my rush to try and get out the door and play. Needless to say it was easier to just do it then to try and sneak out.
As I grew older and had to remember this stuff for myself I very quickly realized why it was so important and why organic ingredients make such a big difference. The longest I could go without moisturising was 24 hours before I started to notice my skin getting ashy, dry and looking tired. If I used any creams with parabens or mineral oils my skin would either break out in a rash or it would "look" moisturised but feel very dry and papery.
I bought the expensive organic creams for years before I realized that;
a) paying $40 for a teeny tiny pot of face cream and $50 for a small jar of real organic body butter is ridiculous
b) some of the ingredients in these products weren't actually that good for you.
So I took matters into my own hands and researched the best organic ingredients and figured out a way to combine them in such a way as to make them look, smell and feel good. The product also had to actually benefit my skin and I had to see a visible difference. The hard work and fun paid off and I have perfected every product I now sell in my store.
Every product is hand made by me, every ingredient that is possible to get certified organic I research until I can source it.
My aim is to ensure at least 90% of the ingredients in each product are certified organic so that you and I have the most benefit & best possible experience using my products. My balms (organic baby balm & organic face balm) are 100% organic and have no preservatives!
My organic essential oils are custom blends made exclusively for me by Sydney Essential Oil Company.
And yes, I use every single product personally and have done so for the last 10 years. Every product is tried and tested on myself and/or a small group of people who have been my volunteers and critics.
Please give it a try and don't expect overnight miracles but I assure you that you will definitely notice a visible difference within a couple of weeks.
I am really interested to hear your feedback so feel free to drop me a line any time and tell me about your experience with my products. If you have any special skin conditions and would like something tailor made for you, I will help you if I can as that is the most rewarding part for me — hearing someone say that using my hand made organic products has helped them even in a small way.
Cheers/Kwaheri & Enjoy
